They are poop and should be handled appropriately, i.e. flush them down the toilet. They may be old, they may be adulterated it just isn't worth the chance you would be taking. In my opinion, just having them around is not a good idea.

What if something innocent happened, you had to run an errand, dropped the bottle in your pocket and took off to get a loaf of bread. Then some cop pulls you over for a taillight problem. All innocent, he notices a bulge in your pocket, checks finds pills, no label and no prescription and now you will have a lot of explaining to do at the very least.

Just be safe and flush them.

Take them to any pharmacy and ask the pharmacist.

Since you said you found the pills, I'm assuming they aren't yours. Before you confront anybody else in your home, make sure you know exactly what you are dealing with. It could be something totally innocent. This is the kind of question that only a trained person should answer, to be sure.

Recognizing drugs was my job before I decided to be a stay at home mom, I am a certified med tech, knowing everything about pills is what paid my bills. This particular pill is zantac, an acid reducer. Without them being in a bottle or package without correct dates and such, I recomend you pitch them, any kind of pill can be poisionous after a period of time and can be harmful. Hope this helped !

I would check with a pharmacist-they have gone to school to learn all that, and would probably be able to tell you, or find out for you.
