Stomach pain or bellyache may be caused due to a problem in the organs in the abdominal region. The main organs in the abdomen are the digestive system consisting of the stomach, small and large intestines, the liver, the gall bladder , pancreas, the appendix and the kidney. Minor problems like gastroenteritis can cause severe pain, while fatal illnesses like cancer may cause only mild pain. Unless you had an oophorectomy with your hysterectomy, you may still have your overies. Also consider appendicitis, gall stones or intestinal tumors as a cause of the pain.

Your doctor should order an ultrasound of the area to check out the problem.

Could be your liver, and its expanding causing pressure on your ribs.

But if its not by your liver...then maybe you pulled a muscle??
