You are talking about an amazing book. I read that book it's been 3 years now and there can be many possibilities of Harper Lee to write this book.
1- She probably lived her childhood in such an enviornment where such events occured in ther life or in a friend of Harper Lee
2- Harper Lee just felt like writting a story about 2 children, getting scared of something/seomone and then adding a twist to the story
THERE ARE LOADS OF POSSIBILITYS USE YOUR IMAGINATION...which is what Harper Lee most probablu used :)

I believe it was written about the times she grew up in and things she saw go on. Her father was an attorney as she was she was childhood friends with Truman Capote and he was the basis for her friend in the book. I think she wrote a book some of which she probably saw and lived. Great book great movie great writer and person. good question.

I think dat Harper Lee wrote d book cuz of d social condition dat were prevalent. When u look at the social differences of both races u realize dat. Some research on the time period during which d book was written should help.

If one reads the book it becomes very clear but given your attempts at english as shown by the question you will never know. I was born in a tar paper shack on the shores of the great lake into a very proud non white family and I have never mangled the language in such a fashion.

I know that it she based the characters of Scout and Dill on herself and her best friend (Truman Capote), and also that she had a lot of lawyers in her family and even went to law school herself for a while, I believe.

a great book.i think she lived ard tht time n saw al this goin on.so then she had an idea to tell tis to d whole world of tht time/era,n setting,so she did,put it down in a masterpiece book..
