That's different. They were Americans. But now we're talking about Terrorists. And you just know they'd do the same thing to us. And by our standards, that makes it okay. And plenty is gained. Every terrorist we torture gives up more names of people we can torture. And obviously, if a terrorist knows them, that makes them terrorists, too. So it's okay to torture them, too. Then they'll give up names. And so on, until we win the war and America is finally safe, and our wise and noble leaders willingly put an end to the USAPATRIOT Act, knowing that we don't need it anymore. GBA!

In a perfect world, POW's, criminal suspects, civilians, etc., would not be tortured for gaining information; however, the US seem to be the only country to value human life (at least to some degree) So, who's gonna enforce the rules of your "New Utopia?" The UN!?

Sorry, but I for one support the use of torture, or any other means necessary to get information from Al-Queda, Hezbollah, Abu Nidal, or whomever, if it will save and protect Americans from our enemies....Specifically, if it will keep terrorists from crashing planes into our cities, buildings, schools, etc.

well our POWs fall under the Geneva convention so they are not to be tortured but the terrorist do not fall under the Geneva convention because they do not have uniforms and they do not fight for a country and they do not follow the Geneva convention so I don't care what our guys do to them and why do libs care more about the enemy

dukalink6... makes a very good point. One that people who read history (that leaves out the neocons I guess) are well aware of. Information gained through torture is useless. Why then does the bush-league want to torture? Must just be because they really as sick as I've come to believe.
