I have a minor slur when I pronounce the "s" sound. If you could describe in detail how to make the sound I would really appreciate it.

Slightly curl the sides of your tongue upwards, touching them delicately, yet firmly to the roof of your mouth. Hold the tip of your tongue in the center of the front of your mouth so that it is not touching any part of your mouth. Take the part of your tongue that is behind the tip, yet further forward than the center of your tongue and slightly bend it upwards. This will prevent you from make the 'shhh' sound. Turn your lips to a slight smile. Hold your cheeks firmly. Blow out a gently and neat stream of air. Do not use the vocal chords in this process.

A slur will occur from blowing too abruptly, pushing on the insides of your cheeks with air, and holding the tongue lazily in your mouth. Put your hand over your mouth so that you can feel a neat stream of air blow into your palm. Now say the word 'sit', then say the word 'simplicity'. Finally, say 'Mississippi'.

When you get better at it, try saying, 'She sells seashells, down by the seashore' repeatedly.

If all else fails, ask a snake.

bite down so that there is just a little bit of space for air to escape between the front of your top and bottom teeth. your tongue should be touching the bottom of your bottom teeth and your lips should be slightly parted. release air that will slide between your top and bottom teeth and make the s sound. ... hope that helped

Put your top/bottom teeth together, where they are touching but not overlapping then breath out through them...move lips/tongue around to create a different tone.

check with colleges in the area, they often provide free speech therapy or your school (if you are still in high school, etc). they can give you the proper ways to do this. otherwise, we could make your lisp way worse. it takes years of education to be able to help people correct your lisp.
