one of those 45 records. They were a want to be band and gave out there music. So they woke up in the morning to a bunch of broken records on there lawn. The following year they gave out candy. This was in a pretty upscale neighborhood where I lived, but that taught them a lesson. kids are so mean

As a child my neighbors house was the one to avoid. They gave our whole pecans every year! Why would you give kids whole pecans? I still can't figure it out. The funny thing is that I took my step son trick or treating there last year (20 years later) and guess what... THEY ARE STILL GIVING OUT PECANS! I guess it is still a nice gesture though, seeing how almost no one gives out candy or PECANS anymore.
Regina J - Save it! He didn't ask what you thought about Halloween or giving out candy. I am so far beyond sick of this overly religious attitude towards Halloween. I love God and I love celebrating Halloween. I don't think it is evil at all, I think it is nothing but good old fashion fun. Ever heard of it? If you don't like Halloween so much stay the heck out of the topic! Stop trying to press your beliefs onto others!

Tootsie Rolls, Licorice, any type of taffy, popcorn, weird looking candy no one's ever heard of, fruit, pennies....It's Halloween, people! I want the good sh!t! Gimme something fruity and sour!
The things I hated most is walking by a rich person's house because they weren't handing out candy. Ugh. So disappointing!

When I was a kid, there was a house on the block that gave out a small plastic sandwich bag with 10 or so pennies in it, tied with a garbage tie. And this was in the 80s....

The houses that are known to hand out freezie (because they burst and make everything jammy) and cans of pop & apples. When that can of pop or apple is chuck into your loot bad all of your chips get smashed and after a few blocks it can become heavy.

One of my neighbors used to hand out religious materials (no idea what religion they practiced - I was too young to understand that) about why Halloween was bad, instead of candy. We avoided their house after that. :)
