I am a registered democrat. I do not blame republicans for all the ills of our country. I do believe that a fair share of blame is always thrown at the party in power. When Bill Clinton was in office, the Republican Party threw a whole lot of mud. It is a political game that has been waged for a couple of centuries now. Made easier by the media. The other thing to note is that we are fast approaching an election that could tip the scales in both the House and Senate. Mud will be flying till the end of elections. Politics as usual. In regards to President Bush being to blame for North Korea, that is not entirely true. That is a problem that the Republicans can point all the way back to the Clinton Administration. The easiest way I cope is to vote for the person that I feel will do the best job. I never vote straight party line. It makes no sense.
Republicans are more interested in economics, and the Democrats are more interested in social issues. They do not usually work very hard in areas that there is little interest.

As a Republican myself from that reddest of states (Utah), I do not agree with the Democratic arguments. However, I do have some Democratic friends who have tried over and over again to persuade me to defect to their side, and so I can try to explain their arguments.
The bottom line is, they have no ideas that are better than what Bush and his administration are currently pursuing. Because they cannot give a better idea to the voters, they instead focus on GOP shortcomings. By attempting to make the GOP look weak in the face of the voters, they are trying to increase their chance of winning elections. By saying "Bush did this... Bush did that...", they are hoping that they can convince the voters of their "blameless" record and win! It's all about winning the elections. The same tactic was used with varying degrees of success during the Vietnam War by both parties.
The US has not fought a major war since Vietnam. This war itself is not a major war when one looks back at history. Major wars such as Vietnam, World Wars I and II, etc., generally are accompanied by rationing, the draft, etc. This war has not had any of those. The death toll for this war is also relatively low, although I of course would prefer that no American servicemen and women died. Because we have not fought a major war, we have become accustomed to short conflicts that were relatively bloodless for our side - the first Gulf War, Kosovo, etc. This obviously is not and is not going to be a short, bloodless war. Democrats seem fixated on the idea that all American wars should be bloodless, or else they are a failure.
As for North Korea, nobody can reason with a lunatic like Kim Jong-Il. Clinton tried, and failed. Bush has tried, and failed. South Korea has tried, and failed. Japan has tried, and failed. The list goes on and on. Democrats criticize Bush with North Korea because they hope it will make them look better in the eyes of the voters. What they have most likely forgotten is that Clinton, a Democrat, couldn't accomplish anything with North Korea. It is becoming increasingly evident that the only way for the Korean peninsula to stop becoming a trouble spot is for it to be reunited under the Republic of Korea. I do not advocate a US invasion to bring this about, and neither do most Americans.
For the most part, it's called mudslinging and politics. It has happened in every presidential election since George Washington, and in every congressional election since the Constitution was ratified.

It is hard for Democrats to get an idea, when their mouths are flapping.
N Korea is a problem created years ago when Clinton gave North Korea the right to play with uranium in 1994. Bush got the finished product problem, but he did not start the problem.
I, personally, do not think Democrats have enough to do in their lives.
Get married, have sex, have children. Get ideas from someone other than media.
I am a happy, fulfilled Republican that has other things to do other than on voting day & for general entertainment to give thought to Democrats.

Perhaps it is because you control ALL the branches of government and now that the nation and the world is a mess due to Bush's policies you insist on blaming Clinton and the Dems for all of it. Take some darn responsibility for your own actions for once!
