Does your team have a great player that isn't very well known outside of your town?
I'm picking Shaun Phillips for the San Diego Chargers, he gets overshadowed by Merriman in the press, but I've never seen a linebacker move like he does. He had 4 sacks coming into todays game, and picked up 2 more today.
So who is it for your team?

mrt3131: we're going for "unsung hero's" here, so I would say Brees and Bush are too well known, making Joe Horn a fine choice.
There are some damn good answers here, I might have to let this one go to vote.

Much like the Lions fan, I'm a Titans fan (Hey, we both got our first Ws today!!!!) and we don't have a lot of heroes, unsung or otherwise, but I guess I'd go with Drew Bennett or Ben Troupe. Bennett is our "go-to guy" (and I use that expression SOOOOOOOOOO loosely), but he doesn't get much credit. But what makes him more important is, he's also our 3rd string QB at this point. He'll do whatever Fisher asks him to do, no questions asked, no bickering, he just does it. Ben Troupe is on the brink of becoming an All-Pro TE because Vince Young is about to have to start going to him a lot, since our O-Line is a disaster. Vince will see he's gonna have to dump it off quickly, and if he can't run it, Troupe will be the safety net.

I'm also picking a player from the Chargers but I'm going to pick Jamal Williams because last week, he was stellar in keeping the Steeler offense in line by holding up TWO offensive linemen (that's about 600 lbs. of manpower compared to JW's 300something lbs.).
Now that you mention him, I think I will also pick Shaun Phillips, too. I have a feeling that there will be a lot of San Diego defensive players in the Pro Bowl in 2007.

You wanna talk "unsung"? How about Rob Davis of the Packers. He'll turn 38 in December, he's been the long-snapper since 1997, and he's never had a bad snap, at least that I recall. Dude even hustles down the field on punts.
He'll never score a TD, or make it into a box score for anything. But any coach will tell you how vital a guy like him is to their special teams. THAT is "unsung."

First off, before i pick for my sorry *** Lions. Its NOT Joe Horn for the Saints. I dont know what team he is watching but their MVP has to be one of two guys. They are either Drew Brees OR Reggie Bush. Defenses focus way too much attention on Reggie and that opens the field for lets say a Joe Horn. Anyway, for my Lions, im going to say Jon Kitna however he doesnt perform well in the fourth quarter, case in point....Minnesota game. They were up 14 and blew it in the fourth.

confident the Yankees have been getting alongside ok, regardless of the recent gamers. whilst the Yankees had an off day in Clevland, CC Sabathia took almost each and every of the group to a Cavaliers pastime! everybody's been getting alongside super, that's like they're all terrific friends on somewhat league group! BQ1- Melky Cabrera has been our guy from the seventh inning on. The Yankees have had alot of walk off/come from in the back of wins this season, yet as quickly as I examine this question, the 1st person i seen became Melky! BQ2- Derek Jeter has gained 3 gold gloves and 3 silver sluggers, and that i desire he wins his 1st ever MVP award this 3 hundred and sixty 5 days! =) BQ3- No I havent seen it, is it any sturdy?

Terry Glenn for the Cowboys. With all the T.O. drama, he still goes out every week and makes plays and keeps his mouth shut.
