My friends are always telling me things like, "Why did you give her the 'friend' hug?" or "Why did you give him the 'lover' hug?"
Could someone please tell me the different kinds of hugs?

thats kind of funny.
but i think the friend hug is the one where one arm goes up and one goes down and the other person's does the same thing and they sort of cross....catch that at all?
maybe the lover hug is around the waist and neck???
i've never really heard those terms before

The friend hug is hands on shoulder blades, cheeks touch and a slight pat on the shoulder blades.
The lover hug is arms around the waist, pull the other in tight to your breast.

This is hilarious. The lover or want to be lovers hug includes pelvic contact. The friend hug maintains daylight between pelvises. Great question. If you get pelvis with your hug, you might be, might be, getting an I'm interested signal.

I think there are many different kinds of hugs. You can hug someone close and tight, and its a heartfelt hug. Or you can hug someone loosely and its a not so heartfelt hug. A hug like, I'm hugging you...but I'd rather not be touching you.
Hugs, heartfelt ones, are the best!

Funny....
I think that when you do a friend hug w/ a guy its putting one arm over his shoulder and one arm under while he does the opposite, and the lover hug is when you put your arms around his shoulders, he puts his around your waist, and its probable a lot closer then the friend hug.

I don't know if there is a difference in those. I know "safe hugs" are safe hugs where they are gentle and safe but 'love' hugs might be when someone loves you or something. not sure about that one...maybe someone else can explain it better than i can lol

the lover hug is when yoiu hug with your hands fairly low and the friend is like when youo hug your friends that are girls
