One of my mollies just had babies too. Her second batch, the first time we only found 1 live one, the others probably got ate by some of the larger fish in the tank. This time we put her in a breeding net when she was ready and we've got 14 babies. You should know once a mollie breeds she will continue to have babies about every 30 days or so without any further interaction with a male. They can produce fry (baby mollies) for 5 or 6 months with one mating. So, if you want to save all the babies put her in a tank by herself or in a breeding net that attaches to your main tank. Once she has released a batch remove her or she could eat them. The fry can be released back into the general population of your tank when they have about doubled in size. At that point they are big enough and fast enough to avoid the larger fish and should survive. Another thing you should know is what to feed them. When they are first born they are very small and need to be fed either crushed up flake food (crushed to powder consistency) or newborn brine shrimp. I live in a rural area and the flakes are easier to find. Good luck!

There are two varieties of Fish:
1. Live bearers - Guppys, Mollys, Platys, Sword Tails etc
2. Egg Layers - Tetras, Discus, Angels, Gouramis, Bettas etc.
The live bearers depending on their size give from about 20 to 30 fries at a time and yes they actually give birth to live fries.
You have to create a trap with a net or by plants (artificial or natural) or other safe sanctuaries by rocks or corrals or big sea shells to avoid the fries from being eaten up by the parents. Preferably should be in a different tank (normally 10 gallon tanks are sufficient for breeding). >

Mollies are livebearers, meaning that they give birth to live fry, not eggs. The number depends on the size of the female. The average number is around 15-20.
You find only a few because it is possible that they get eaten by the other inhabitants of the aquarium (including their own parents). An aquarium with decors (gravel, plants, rocks, etc) provides the fry with hiding places, so chances of survival are much higher.

mollys are live bearers and depending on the size and sub speceices of molly (ie lear tail sail fin ar standard) they can give birth to between two and eight live fry , also the other tank mates will eat their own kind including the mother. so if possible seperate the fry from other fish or at least provide plenty of cover for them such as dense plants either faux or real also you can use a birth net to seperate the expecting mother and most have mini shelves that an adult fish cant get inbetween for the frys protection during birth

Mollies are live bearers - they give birth to fry.
The number of fry depends on the size of the molly. I have had a molly give 160 fry and another molly give 60 fry.

it depends on the species- the number of fry and if they even give live birth - some other lay eggs and some, like a particular shark..have eggs that develop inside the body then when they hatch from the egg the baby is expelled from the mothers body
