Actually, none of the above, you may not know who he is now but, Senator Barack Obama of Ill. is a name who will know by 2008. If he is nominated, he will win!

Of those three I would say McCain has the greatest chance. Hillary rubs a LOT of people the wrong way, and she doesn't have the support from moderate Democrats. Romney just isn't known well enough yet to be the household name he needs to be to get elected. McCain is known as being a straight-shooter, and being a former POW he has idea about military a lot of people support. Frankly, though, none of them would be my choice, but I don't know who I really want.

Remember to win a primary, one must win the support of the party's base. For Republicans it is the religious right and conservatives. McCain is out because the base hates him. I use this term because the anger is severe. Romney is from MA and I am sure there are a lot of socialist ideas he has allowed to be implemented.
If I had to guess right now, Newt Gingrich. He is the only Republican alive who has led Republicans to sweeping victory. When Republicans run as conservatives, they win. Notice that most of the Republicans in trouble for reelection are "moderates". The base has had it with Chafee, Dewine, and the gang.
As for Iraq, the situation will be far undercontrol in 2 years. It will be a non-issue. If Democrats get the House and/or Senate, they will show their liberal leanings and get voted out in droves. They have already promised raising taxes, removing tax cuts (which is a tax increase), cutting and running in Iraq. I hope they get the House and Republicans keep the Senate. Nothing will get done and Democrats will show their colors.

Colin Powell. I think the General will take a look at everyone who has thrown their hat in the ring by summer of 2007, realize that NONE of them deserve the job, and his duty to his country will lead him to run for the office, not because he wants it, but because he believes he will make a better leader for our nation than Hillary, McCain, Romney, Kerry, or Edwards.
And he will be right. And he will win.

There aren't any "front-runners" because no one is running yet.
I favor a constitutional amendment to structure the Presidential primaries so that states do not consistently put their primaries further and further earlier in the year. I believe that no state should hold its primary or caucus before April 1. If my idea ever does get adopted, then hopefully nobody will be "running" for President 2 full years before the election gets held.

I think it is a little bit hard for Ms.Hillary to win the election, because America never have had a female president since the commencement of this country.Another reason is that it is still a man-centered society.so I impose my hope on other male candidates.

I consider myself fairly politically astute and I must say that the 2008 race is too difficult to call right now. I think the political environment is very unstable.

There is no way to tell who will win. Two years is a long time in politics, many things happen that can change the face of politics in that amount of time.
