ACLU is for free speech, no matter what. They believe in the idea of "Even if I hate what you say, I'll defend to the death your right to say it."

The ACLU only cares about free speech as long as it's politically correct or liberal.

But watch out if a conservative says anything.

The ACLU stands up for freedom of speech, even if it is objectionable. Why are you opposed freedom? Why are you opposed to the US Constitution?

You are un-American but are still allowed to vote and voice your opinion. You should support the ACLU more than anyone.

I don't know that they do. Please cite your source.

If they do its because of the First Amendment

I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it. ~Voltaire

Too many on both sides of the political spectrum, but mostly on the left can't or won't understand the above quote.

The populist authoritarianism that is the downside of political correctness means that anyone, sometimes it seems like everyone, can proclaim their grief and have it acknowledged. The victim culture, every sufferer grasping for their own Holocaust, ensures that anyone who feels offended can call for moderation, for dilution, and in the end, as is all too often the case, for censorship. And censorship, that by-product of fear - stemming as it does not from some positive agenda, but from the desire to escape our own terrors and superstitions by imposing them on others - must surely be resisted. ~Jonathon Green, "Did You Say 'Offensive?'

"Hate speech codes" are censorship. End of story

You can't have freedom of speech for select opinions. . . It's all or nothing. So in order to get the intelligent free speech, you have to let the idiots have their free speech, too.

i don't think of they comprehend what apparently opt to us. they in basic terms imagine "i'm a astonishing man or woman! i visit end bigotry!" and in that they suppress the rights to loose speech. it is a noble and pathetic reason.
