It all in the name of the Band...A great stage name can go a long way.

5. Pearl Jam / Mookie - They should've stuck with "Mookie"
4. Nirvana - Such a deep religious context only vaulted the group to even bigger success
3. Led Zepplin - I think the got sued over the "zepplin" name
2. Smashing Pumpkins - imagery associated with the name is directly speaking to their target demographic
1. The red hot chili pepper's - the bands name is as spicy as their musical style. A name that can never be assciated with anything else other than this group.

Lynyrd Skynyrd, who knew a misspelled high school priciple's name could ever be associated with raw southern rock? the Eagles, a regal name for a superior band. AC/DC, i've heard people say that meant anti-christ devil child, but i think they were just too anal to rock-n-roll 3 Doors Down luv them and the name just sounds so inviting Fleetwood Mac sounds better than Fleetwood Macvie although once Stevie Nicks and lindsay Buckingham joined they should have changed the nam because of their enormous talent....Great question!
