I am writing a book and I want to have my "template" bound for some friends for Christmas. Its a cook book so I wanted something durable because everyone splashes occasionally so I want it to be strong. Anyone know a company that would help me? Even like a kinko's or something like that?

For a cookbook, you will probably want a laminated cover and coil binding (a strong, uncrushable plastic that lets the book lie flat). This is very usable on a kitchen counter, but also can be attractive and sturdy on a bookshelf. Other options are comb binding and wire binding (sometimes called spiral). But for durability and usefulness, I recommend you consider the coil binding, and be sure to get a heavy laminated cover.

Most any good commercial printer, such as Kinko's, Staples, Renaissance, and the like, will provide such binding service, and will ordinarily have staff who can counsel you and show you samples of options available.

Now, true bookbinding is another--and usually moe expensive--matter, and not as handy for a cookbook. Most printers will either provide this service or refer you to someone who does. If there is a university near you, ask where their graduate students have theses and dissertations bound or where their library sends unbound or paperbound material to prepare it for shelving.

Good luck!

Yes, Kinko's and places like that do offer binding services. They also sell binding machines at Office Depot, Staples, Office Max, etc,.
