"Intermediate inputs"

eg: An example is nails and planks used to make a table. The raw materials used are trees, metal, labour and capital (machinery etc). Planks are manufactured/processed by cutting trees down and cutting them up. Nails are made by moulding the metal. Both of the manufactured items are intermediate inputs into the aditional manufacturing activity of making tables.
