Why can't I see a picture in my incoming e-mails? All I get is a box in the upper left hand corner?

If I click on show picture I still am not able to see it

how do you access your email?
do you use an application or are you doing this in your web browser?
sounds like a plugin problem of some kind..
have you tried resetting all your internet browser's options/prefs to their defaults and trying again?
have you tried to reinstall Java and/or Flash and trying again?

Let us know what OS, and what Browser you use and what email program if any please.

Try going to the settings and changing it to open pictures in e-mail. Pictures are prevented from being viewed because some pictures can actually confirm on a website that the e-mail was opened, henseforth the sending of more spam to your inbox. If it's from a trusted source, then you're good.
