Personally, I'm a fan of both players. But which way would you go? Brees is proven, he knows how to win, puts up good numbers every week, but has never really been considered "elite" and probably won't get any better. Rivers is taller, moves better, has a stronger arm, is more accurate, and so far is playing better than any quarterback in his fifth start has a right to. But that's just it, he's only in his fifth start. So would you go with a proven good player, or a young player with the potential to be great?

right now i would go with brees because they both have the same record with there team win and loss standings i think....correct me if im wrong........so i would go with the one with the more experience.....plus brees has a worst team to work with...not the best defence and no receivers besides joe horn....who is good no doubt.....but they lost stallworth....other than that they dont have anyone.......they do have 2 good running backs though.....i would hate to be the 3rd string running back on that team lol.......but rivers has average receivers a good tight end.....2 great running backs but the difference is that his defense is unbelievably good this year............so my answer is brees because of experience and worst team personel in comparison..........dont forget they beat philly today which is nothing easy

I'm going with the potential. Brees, like you said, is already proven.

However, it still pains me to watch Saints games on TV because Brees left my Chargers. I really loved seeing him as a QB.

Having lived in Indiana and having a husband who grad Purdue I would have to say Brees. The question we used to throw around was Brees or Vick??

Having watched the Saints a few times..Brees is on the team to "not lose" games..he dinks..he dunks..he throws high percentage..doesn't take risks..Rivers though is young and unexperienced..can "win" games..he has the better arm to throw downfield..ball don't get batted cause he is taller..more mobile..and can only get better..he looks good so far..

Right now, I think the should play Rivers. It does not matter if he's a rookie. Let him play there is nothing to loose.
