My high school daughter and her teen age friends keep telling me about a murder that occured in a haunted house in Las Vegas a "few years back". According to these kids a mad man got into the haunted house with a real chainsaw and raped and murdered a woman (some kids say multiple people were murdered). They all think chain saws should be banned from haunted houses to prevent something like this happening again. I have lived here in Las Vegas a long time and I have never heard of this. I have tried snopes.com and google and I can't find this story at all -- let alone proof if it is true or not. Has anyone else heard this haunted house chainsaw murder story before???

This was not a house that was really haunted , but a haunted house "experience" open to the public during Halloween season (according to the story).

I don't know if that is true...BUT I can tell you right now that that is MY BIGGEST FEAR when I go to a haunted house! I always run like hell from the guy with the chainsaw, because, think about it...IT COULD really be a psycho who snuck in with a REAL chainsaw! My friends think I worry to much, but there are ALOT of sicko's in this world! And I wouldn't doubt it could and HAS happened. Yea I think they should ban chainsaws in haunted house's too!

Sounds to me like they've watched to many horror movies, and their imaginations are running wild. Maybe they'll create another urban legend with it.

urban legends usually start with an older sibling telling a younger sibling something to make the afraid. and the youndge sibling tells their friends..and we are in the information age so rumors spread fast.
