I have recently put on a little weight and all of a sudden nothing fits! And I can't find much that does. I cannot wear Big Women's clothes, they are too big and a size 10, 12 or 14 does not fit through the waist....someone needs to develop a line of clothing for us! I am 5'2" tall, not overweight, just menopause has hit along with it's changing your size and stature......HELP!

It really depends on your taste, budget and lifestyle. Based on the answers here, they run the gamut (cheap to mid-range department stores).
Since most clothes do not fit the average woman perfectly fro off the rack. I think a good suggestion is to ourchase the clothing as close to fit as possible and have them altered. Also clothing with a little elastic in the waist band could help. Also try Dillards, they have a great selection of what I call mid-range professional clothing for petites, tall, womens sizes etc.
If you want a more exclusive line of clothing try Barrie Pace on line. I almost forgot for fabulous line of clothing for casual and business casual and maybe even evening, try CHICO's they have an online catalog too. The clothing line is contemporary, yet not 21ish and the fabric stretches to conform to your body, it travels well, is mostly wash and wear and it is extremely comfortable..I am wearing it right now!

you have to try on lots of different styles and fits. if the waist is too large, then you can always take it to a tailor who can fix it for you. this is less painstaking and inexpensive than tracking all over creation in search of pants that for everywhere. find ones that fit everywhere else.

check in petite sizes at Macy's or equivalent. that should help? every woman's body is different, so it is hard to name just one brand, hence why there are so many brands out there.

also, check Eddie Bauer. just don't do the "mom" pants. they are so bad.

It may be prosaic, but J. C. Penney has women's petites for us shorties who have a little extra something here and there. I'm only 5 feet tall, and they fit beautifully.
