How can I translate binary to text and vice-versa, and is ascii different?

Ascii is generally text. Extended ascii is the extended symbol set basically.

I would advise you to go get a translator off the net Just google in binary translator. And yes, ASCII is different obviously.
Binary is 0's and 1's while ASCII is one up and has translated the 0's and 1's to actually mean something.
