Yes, Absolutely, it has made already rich and powerful military arms dealer friends of George Bush as well as his cronies in office even more powerful and lawless. We now have the most politically corrupt government on the planet. George Bush has helped reduce the planet population by half a million souls. He has also given foreigners the opportunity to come to American and without a Visa,to seek their fame and fortune.

This was never about "benefiting the US". This was to hunt
down those dang terrorists who planned and masterminded
the killing of over 3000 innocent workers in the US and to also
help Iraq from being terrorized by Saddam. Well, we got rid
of Saddam. We've killled or captured some of the top master-
minds of terrorism. We're teaching Iraq how to defend itself
so they too can live a life in freedom. The US has down through
the years always defended freedom around the world, and
used our military for such a purpose in many wars. This is just
a continuation of what's been done in the past. We have sure
lived in freedom as a result of our soldiers fighting for US all
these many years. Some of you may be too young to remember
all this and you think Bush has started something brand new.
Ain't so. Bush is not a dictator, he is one of the brave. It's the
Dems that want to cower down and wave the white flat cause
they don't want to help no one else's cause. God Bless George
Bush.

Yes you are completely right, we should have our soldiers guarding our boarders. And we can see from 9/11 how much good that will do. Maybe if you prefer rather than fight the terrorists over in Iraq we could fight them on your front lawn. We could have things like 9/11 happened every month and have suicide bombers in your mall or child's school. Yes we need stronger national security, but terrorists don't wear uniforms. Putting our soldiers on our national boarders may help, but will stop nothing in the long run. We need to fight the problem at the source not here.

Unfortunately, we in can not deny that warfare is much more dangerios and unpredictable than we can handle at this time. The United States Army Combat units are broken. The moral is rotten, and many of its soldiers are in shock from being around and witnessing so much death and destruction. The machinery is worn and most of the Humvee will have to be junked.
The whole army has to be retrained for guerrilla warfare. the support and attack equipment for close quarter ground support action has to be redesigned, better armor, better electronic gear and improved coordination with ground troops.
The Army needs a troop carrier, armored fighting vehicle that can stand and fight, maneuver and retreat quickly and be armored much better for todays weapons.
The days of fighting enemy tanks seem to be over. The tank has disadvantages in urban and guerrilla fighting.
It looks like close quarter rocketry is the way to go. Also, infantry has to be equiped with sensors that can warn the units and troops of tracking and aiming sensors of the enemy. Also, the army needs electronic unit like heavy weapons units to move with and be in the mix of troops on the ground with each company.
We have ten years of training and rearming our men for future combat that we can not avoid. What I mean is, the absolute last resort is war, and that has to be a holy commitment that can not be brushed aside.

That illegal war in Iraq has benefited Bush's buddies at the oil companies (including Halliburton, in which Cheney ran in the past) and numerous weapons manufacturers! They lined their pockets with cold, hard cash at the expense of over 2,700 American soldiers, numerous Iraqi security forces and police officers, and over 600,000 civilians! They already have the victims' blood smeared on the palm of their hands and don't have a clue about it!!!!!!

the answer to "why"of almost situations is found "following the money trail". The rich got richer & the middle-class became poor. How ever--I myself don't get the constant accumilation of wealth, I mean, can you buy a better steack, live a richer life style after a certain point... Perhaps its like accumilating points on Yahoo--just a way to keep score--only the super greedy are merciless & don't care who or how many die in their effort to obtain further wealth.. God/Goddess forgive them , and remove them from everyone elses misery.

I am in total agreement with you. Nothing good has come out of this bogus war so far...maybe in the future we can learn from how we were so misled into this one and hold futre leaders to a much higher standard of accountability. If we can never again have elective wars of choice then....maybe this lesson will have been worth it. The Iraq war should teach us to control our government and keep it from doing these things.

Doesn't wars generally better the economy? I guess that would be the only thing. No, wait, the US economy STILL sucks ever since Bush became president. He can't even do something so simple right. Good thing, good thing....whew, this is hard...

Doggzila: the war in Iraq was unrelated to terrorism. Senate inteligence reports found that saddam didn't like alquida and had no conections. there were no terrorists.
further senate reports found that the war increased the risk of attack
