Should he ever allow any white to show? How often should they be clipped? Do most women even care about guys nails? Do women ever clip their husband's-boyfriend's nails for them? If so, how often? How long is too long for a man's nails?

I think that the beginning of white showing is long enough. Any longer and it starts being slightly feminine.

Okay, here's the answer:

Yes, white can show, but not much of it. Long nails aren't sexy on a man. BUT, well groomed hands are. I think most women do care about guys nails. If they are dirty... we are repulsed and don't want to be touched by those hands. If they are short and well trimmed, it's appealing. I like basically really short nails... no white is fine, but a little is fine too. If they get long, I'm not a fan. Besides, long nails can be painful at certain times ;-(

I haven't ever clipped a guys nails and would never do it. I do my grooming, you do yours. As to how often, it depends on how quickly they grow. Just monitor them and keep em short! Good question... lots of feedback from the ladies I'm sure!

Fingernails grow faster than toenails and all nails grow more quickly in the summer than in winter or cold weather. Heat increases the rate of all metabolic processes. Nails grow from 0.05 to 1.2 millimeters per week. The nail on the middle finger grows the fastest and the nail on the little
finger grows the slowest. If a nail is lost, it
may take seven (7) months to grow out fully. The nail on the middle finger grows the fastest and the nail on the little
finger grows the slowest.

You should clip them once a week and it is fine for some white to show but keep them short enough that you are comfortable and not self consious. Keep them short and clean underneath the tips.

First of all, the word "long" should never be associated with a man's fingernails. I don't think we women pay a lot of attention to a man's nails unless there is something unattractive about them . They should always be kept short with a small amount of white showing at the tip. They always need to be clean. There is a white pencil you can buy in the nail section of any drug store that to run under the tips of your nails to make them clean and white. You can also try one of those clear, non-shiny man polishes. Buffing is also nice. You can buy a nail file that has 4 different sections for buffing (also at any drugstore). I don't know what your girlfriend is like, but I'd love to do my man's hands. Also, very important....keep hand lotion on your hands regularly and always after washing.

White showing is ok, as long as it is clean and not over the end of the finger. Just short of the end is the best. Lots of women notice men's hands, and can be repulsed by dirty, long, broken.... you get the picture. Some women do clip their spouse's nails, but not many I know. And don't buff them to a shine.. not manly in my opinion.

I really don't like long nails on a man. A little bit of white is ok, but long is yuck.

I don't really care how short they are, but when they are longer than mine, I cringe.

I think to the end of the finger is too long. Probably quarter way between nail and fingertip is ok.

I will vote against it. Not your hair, but using any methodes to try to make it grow faster. How do you know there is no side effects in all this. Maybe you shorten the time by 14 days, and as a result you get large hair loss. My wife got that a few years ago, but I do not remember why. It could be a reaction to a shampoo or anything. It is not worth the risk, just be patient and good luck:) MIMI

I care about mens nails and hands.

A little white can show, but that's about the time for them to be clipped again.

I've never clipped my man's nails, but I've buffed them.

long nails on a man is ultimately DISGUSTING. omg, i can't count the number of times I've seen men with long nails that aren't even white, theyre yellow (ewww) and they have dirt under them. KEEP THEM SHORT PLEEEASE!!! It's like, a woman not shaving their pits or something.

A white collar worker - very thin crescent moon look but absolutly no growth past skin, kept manicured (by you maybe). Blue collar, as short as possible. Getting scratched by a man is a complete turn off in my opinion.
