Ok, so I suck at Grammar, and i have to know how to use comma's. I need to know why this sentence is correct. "Thank You, Doctors."
Why do you need the comma? What makes it correct?

Doctor is a noun of address. A noun of address is a name or used in place of the name which is the case with Doctor, and it is always separated from the rest of the sentence. Since Doctor is capitalized, it is being used in place of his/her name. The subject of the sentence is the understood you.
Example: Joe, please shut the door. (verb=shut; subject=you understood)
Please shut the door, Joe.

A comma is always used with a direct address to someone. Look at the examples in the other response.

A comma is used to separate a greeting, or phrases of address, from the subject of the greeting or address. Since you are addressing doctors, the thank-you needs to be a separate phrase from that.

You need the commas to make pauses. Like when your talking. If not you would have to practically say everything fast, like if you're not leaving any spaces in between words.

This is a great question, but a little cumbersome to answer in this forum. I am attaching a web link which simplifies the comma pretty well, and gives some good examples.

Good luck!

Whenever you are addressing someone, you always use a comma to pause instead of running the whole sentence together.

Annie, how are you today?

Jim, you are going to be late.

and vise versa
