Yes, we do it too. Its alot safer that way too because you know the people giving out candy so you know that it isn't poisoned or anything like that.

My church has a festival but the church down the street from our church does trunks or treats and I love it. There is a since of a community spirit and the Holy Spirit to. Both churches encourage children to dress in Biblical costumes. One year I dressed my son as Moses and his best friend as the Burning Bush! It was adorable. So we all prefer going to trunks or treats. Enjoy!

Nope never heard of such a thing. Never heard of the way they do it here where I live either. Kids, teens and dogs get dressed up and before sundown all the stores, banks, and business pass out treats in our downtown. They have a photostop and they'll take pictures then post them and the community gets to vote for their favorites in different catagories. Ribbons are handed out and the winners and favorites are in the weekend following paper. It's safe and fun to watch even if you don't take part

When I was a kid we had to walk from house to house to get candy. This just seems way too easy and not enough effort. I'm all up for kids splurging on sugar for halloween--just make them burn some of it off ahead of time by walking around the neighborhood.

I have never heard of this. We do the harvest party too. But I have never heard of the TRUNK or TREAT. Sounds safe and fun.

They do it here where I live (deep south). I think it is a cute idea for all the kids who can't go trick or treating.
