From personal experience, I am a single Mom also, and for years I found that the best system was to team up with another single mom and be roommates. We shared bills, helped with childcare, etc....My children are 14 and 11 now and I own my own 150,000k house. Also, what state are you in? There are programs such as HEAP for utilities that are easy to qualify, lower cost phone service for low income families, etc....Housing in this country tends to be difficult for anyone with lower incomes right now because rates went up and so did real estate value. I wish I knew of a government program, but the assistance offerred is declining constantly. try to see if there is a Mentoring program for single moms where they hook u up with someone else to help you. Best of luck to you. Being a mother is the greatest thing in the world. Have faith.

There are quite a few things you could do at this junture. There are food stamps. These most likely come from the Department of Health and Human services for your county. You can usually find the forms you need to fill out, depending on your state (google it up for different states), and apply in person. They will contact you for an interview and then they will see how much you qualify for...

Usually (at least for Texas), they sign you up for TANF ( a one time disbursement of funds for whatever use, but you have to take classes), Medicaid (for your children;s healthcare), and other such services.

Finally, if you need health care services for yourself, you can contact the Dept. of Health and Human services for yourself, and they can usually point you in the right direction...

If you are going to college (that which I don't know if you are or not), then that opens up quite a bit of possibilities in order to further your education help finance it.

I'm sure you know about Medicaid for you child's health and CHIPS and all that, but there is government housing that should help and should base the payments on your income. Since you have a computer, check out some government sites about help for single parents. i don't know exactly where to go but i'm sure that there will be some help out there. Good luck!

Hi Christina, I am sorry I can't provide you with an agency that you are looking for, however here is a link for a company that is totally free to join and the webpage is all set up for you. It may be a way for you to bring in some extra money. All you would have to do is promote your site, and they are with the BBB. The address is http://www.cajuncountrygifts.com/go.cgi?free=5340
