No issues with this. Let's use the most practical strategy at this point.

There are actually 3 groups in the country. There are the Kurds, Shiites, and Sunnis. If you were to split the country into three equal sections relative to group population, you would actually create more problems. You would land-lock 2 of the three groups forcing them to deal with the other to export any oil or other natural resources available to them in their part of the country, leading to more war and fighting. There is really no good answer to end the turmoil in the middle east. This is a religious war that has been fought in one way or another for thousands of years. Nothing short of the second coming of Christ or the total destruction of the planet is going to make all the different religious groups on the planet quit fighting with each other.

Actually, it used to be three. After the British took control of the Ottaman Empire after World War 1, they took a Sunni land, a Shitte land, and a Kurdish land, combinded them together, called it Iraq and put a puppet dictartor in so they could suck the oil out of it. If we divide it now, it would actually cause more violence.

I thought they were heading towards a republic? Individual states with a federalist form of national government. They are going to have to do something or the fighting will not end.

What about the Kurds? How do you divide Bagdad? In the rest of the country do we divide according to percentage of population to percentage of land? Or just divide it in thirds? Who gets which oilfields thus revenue? I think this question is more complex than you understand.

Let me answer your question with a question? Did separating the country work with North and South Korea; Ireland; Vietnam and Israeli-Palestinian (1947)? I agree something has to be done what do you think about diplomacy? I mean they could point out what the Koran says about the situation. Seriously it seems that their religious leaders must tell them what is the Holy thing to do or not to do. Good luck, thanks for allowing me to express my opinion. God Bless You and the Southern People.

If the Sunnis, Shites, and Kurds could all agree on a way to do this. The problem is oil. How are they going to share the wealth from that?

Brilliant dumbass.
Iran and Iraq are "divided" and they've been fighting for how many years? We're fighting Iran in Iraq right now.

I think they should do 3 actually (Kurds, Shia, Sunni). Unfortunately for the Sunni they have no oil and no resources in their triangle so I don't know how much success it will have ending the violence.

How about killing the foreign fighters that are coming in and causing most of the problems. This is cutting and running. Democracy takes time.
