I live in Detroit. Born and Raised. For over 36 years It seems that everytime you mention this city, people who don't even or have never lived here are putting it down. I am proud to be from the city of Detroit we have had our down times but all in all Detroit is a great place to live I have been to Chicago, NY and LA and all have their cestpools. I want to hear from Detroit residents and tell me why you love or hate Detroit

Detroit is a great town. I don't live in Detroit but I do spend time their. The reason people look down on the city is because people from outside the city only hear about the bad stuff that happens their. Killings and drugs seem to dominate the news. The news is where the unknowing people get their impression of Detroit.
Where else in America can you go watch a baseball or football game, walk across the parking lot to the bar and have a beer with a player that you just got done watching? Detroit.Ohh, and that player will even carry on a normal conversation with you.

I didn't know everyone hated Detroit. My folks lived there, I still have relatives there and or near there, and it is a city on the rebound. And YES, GO TIGERS.. ( by the way, I say in 6 now.)

I don't know why anyone would down Detroit. Ive never been there, but considering Detroit is home of 'Mopars' then its a great place to myself & my husband who is dying to come there for the big Mopar rallies & all mopar buddies of ours.... I think alot of people feel this way about the 'state' that they are from, which makes no sense to me at all...

I live north of Detroit. To me its city that has a high crime rate, mismanaged city government and too many run down buildings. It used to be a wonderful city and now its not.
