He's definitely teething. My son did the same thing at his age and had two teeth when he turned 5 months, and my cousin's baby had two teeth at 3 months. Cut up some oranges and apples put them in the freezer, let him teeth and bite on them. They have these safe teethers at Babies R us for you to put food in and let them chew on it without choking on it. Also, if he sucks a nuk, put it in the freezer as well. My son love sucking on an ice cold nuk. You could wet a towel put it in the freezer and let him chew all over it.

Not at all too early to start teething! Babies can start teething at 10 week and some don't start until after a year. Every baby is different. Some babies are actually even born with a tooth or two. These are usually removed by the delivering doctor because they are often loose and can be a choking hazard. Other symptoms of teething that you may have noticed besides the chewing on fist and crankiness are, runny nose, drooling, rubbing at face, pulling on ears (this can also be due to ear infection). My baby started teething at 12 weeks, even though he didn't actually get a tooth until sometime in the 5th month. Good luck!

It could be teething or it could be that he is still hungry. It's it's teething I would suggest a couple of different things. First- take a washcloth and get it wet with cold water and let your baby chew on that. I have found that the teething rings are to big for the babies mouth until they are older. You can also give the baby a small rattle or something that is little enough to fit into his mouth. That way he can chew on that to relieve the pain. Tylenol is also a life-saver as well. I hope this helps.

My daughter did the same thing at that age, and I know other babies do also. But alas, she is 8 months old and STILL no teeth! Babies getting teeth at three months does not happen often. I would like to know what causes babies to act that way at that age, too. A lot of people have told me their children did the same thing but didn't get teeth until a few months later! Good luck!

Your baby could be teething or have gas. His fist in mouth could be that he just found it, or again teething. I would refrigerate (not freeze) for his age a teething ring. Or use a clean wet wash clothe. If you think he is in pain you could offer some Tylenol.
Good Luck

It's unlikely, but possible. There are these homeopathic teething tablets that are all natural that you could give him. They work well for the baby I nanny for, and there are litterally no side effects. Try offering him more formula, around 14 or so weeks they go through a huge growth spurt, and if that's whats going on he could still be hungry. Good luck!

It is probably just teething and in that case your baby will be doing that a lot and like you said will be whining a ton. If you don't feel like it is teething and is something serious, talk to your baby's doctor to make sure he or she is health.
