Very funny.
They simply refuse to ask, mapquest or go in to get a map at a store. It is a control issue, and not all guys are like that, just the ones that need to be in charge of things. And they WILL get there, eventually, even if it is 2 hours late.
Other gentlemen will get a recommendation from a neighbor, a sister or brother, advice from wife or girlfriend, and accept it on face value. These kind souls know that they don't know.
The others only think that they do.

Guys don't like asking for directions because it makes them feel inferior

They never are. They have the same sense of direction as a glass of water.

My Sweetie always says he knows where we are going...

Then he won't stop and ask for direction because it isn't
'macho'!!

I actually heard that guys are better at remembering street names/avenues, and with direction
and females are better at landmarks and familiarizing themselves with where they are.

who knows whos better??
