Someone in my immediate family just endured the indignancy and horror of having an awake (UNCONSENTED) colonoscopy at AMC. While the procedure was begun without her consent, she cried out in pain repeatedly and begged for the physician to stop, which he did not. A nurse and patient care tech were involved with holding different parts of her body down to prevent her from flailing, etc. Upon describing the experience, after which the doctor left her without treating her pain with so much as a tylenol, she explained the incident as feeling like she'd been 'raped' - and we would like to take legal action. Immediately. The more high profile and scarier the lawyer, the better. Thanks.

Avoid trusting the doctors and nurses very much because they rape patients too.

The Jerry Springer show for sure!!!
A colonoscopy is not a procedure that requires general anesthetic. I had one and was mildly sedated, nothing more.
Secondly, medical actions are usually not done without the patient's prior consent.

In this day and age the staff of Doctors and nurses are at an all time high for rudeness, crassness,a nd they just don't give a damn anymore. sounds like a far fetched story but it is possible. A lawyer then Jerry Spinger. Either way you'll get the notery you so despretly want.

YIKES!!!!! I find that hard to believe in today's medical world with all the lawsuits that go on. The doctors are not allowed to be left alone in a room with patients anymore for examinations, and to have three people in the room that all took part in something like that is hard to swallow. Sounds like a campfire story to me.

well, since she voluntarily signed up for the scope, no, this person doesnt need Jerry or an attorney---this person needs to spend a night in jail for even considering a frivolous lawsuit! Give me a break. In fact, GIVE ME A DRINK!

urban legend that one
even if it were true
even if they filed
most cases like that are dismissed on basis of nothing substantive behind the case
most of the time such cases are a shake down for money and often they hope for settlement verses going to trial
