Meguiars makes several products for cleaning and restoring clear plastic car parts, including headlight covers. They have a cleaner and polish to remove the haze. Their cleaner is called Meguiar's Mirror Glaze #17 and it's a liquid cleaner, They also have a polish specifcally designed for clear pastic parts called Meguiar's Clear Plastic Polish #10. DO NOT use rubbing compounds designed for paint as these will leave "spider-webs" in your covers. You can call Meguiars toll-free at (800) 347-5700 and speak to one of their customer care specialists and they can tell you the exact products to use and where, in your area, you can purchase them! Good luck!

you didn't spray any cleaners on it that may fog or slightly melt the plastic composit did you giving it a yellow haze .I did that to my dakota trying to get paint overspray off my composite headlight on the passengers side with goo-gone it fogged the plastic to a yellowish haze in seconds .The only answer I had for it was to buy a new composite .
now another thing that rarely happens is the composite gets a little water in it with some dirt and coats the inside of the composite this requires a removal of the composite and removal of the halogen bulb to be able to get a long bottle brush like tool inside and wash the composite thuroughly from the inside and let it dry completly before re-installing with the halogen bulb .most composit head lamps have drain vents for both water and heat dissipation I would check the posibility .And don't forget do not touch the halogen bulb with bare hands .

Short of replacing them, you can clean them thoroughly and then use alcohol as a final cleaner. Then spray a light coat of clear acrylic over the lens (clear lacquer or any kind of clear glaze etc). The idea is to spray just enough to fill in the light scratches that have dulled the plastic lens. This isn't a permanent fix, but it will last for several months. Can be done more than once.

My boss has a Dodge Dakota with the same problem and my Ford Escort had problem. We decided to just replace them. On eBay you can find headlights for very reasonable prices.

Are they plastic? If so you can use a mild rubbing compound. It probably will come back though.
