In March, I had decompresson surgery to treat my bells palsy... Over all it went very well, I never took any pain killers or anything. But here lately my head has been swelling, and I have been having this really intense pain, amongst other symptoms, does this make any sense, that its becomming more and more unbarable as time goes past? and how do I know if I have an infection?

Pain is the bodies way of letting you know something is really wrong. You should see the Dr. who did the surgery ASAP. Swelling is also a problem that must be looked into. I rather doubt the problem is an infection related to the surgery, that would have developed almost right away. But something is definitely wrong.

You should see your surgeon immediately. The signs if infection are redness in area, swelling, foul smelling discharge, increased pain, warmth in the area, and possibly fever. go to the dr (i know everyone who answers this will tell you that.) Don't wait until all the symptoms appear to see the dr it will be worse by then.

This sounds like a problem. An infection is identified with a fever, warmness to the area, swelling to the area, and pus coming from the area. Please go see the doctor ASAP.

I suggest you contact your doctor as soon as possible and get in there. If it is an infection, it needs to be treated. That is nothing to fool around with at all.

Have a friend take you to the ER. At the least you should call your primary physician to schedule an appointment - SOON.
