for example...if you are going to a new city.....how would a map help you?

It would help you find your way in and out of the city. How to get around where there are one way streets, construction, road closures and so on. What do you do when your normal route is closed or traffic is at a stand still? You take an alternate route right? Well, how can you do that in an unfamiliar city without a map?

maps help us with directions for travelliing or even just for school work like in geography. a world map shows the globe with longitude and latitude and the different countries. a map of a country or continent tells you about it`s cities. And then they have other maps that tell you about what`s imported, exported, grown, it`s livestock, temperatures and all that. they basically help us either learn more about the region or just to figure our way around.

If u are trying to find a place in a new city then look for a cyber cafe...type www.googleearth.com........or.....www.wikimapia.com...& if u have a little bit of common sense then u can easily get the palce u are searching by typing the name of the place in the specified place...

Of course maps are essintial if u travel 2 a place u never know about it. It can leads u to no where to start, getting info, etc..

if you cannot read the map it won't help. My sister is map challenged, they don't help her at all
