Do/did any of you go to SAB? If so, any tips on auditioning and preparing for the audition? What do they want?? I'm 11, and I plan to audition for the fall term next year. I've done ballet for 61/2 years and started pointe this year. Any pionters? (no pun intended.)

Their top priority is an ideal ballet body: short torso, long legs, great turn-out, and very thin. Technique is only secondary and all the auditionees I've talked to felt that the audition class was suprisingly easy. You can have great technique but the wrong body and will be rejected. Therefore, if you are rejected, don't take it personally.

The auditioners seem to know within the first five minutes whether any auditionees are contenders and therefore act like they are going through the motions for the rest of the audition time. The only pointers I can think of are to apply corrections immediately and only turn-out from your hips.
