Story: The Last Question By Isaac Asimov
Author: Lois McMaster Bujold and Isaac Asimov
Book: Empire Star by Samuel R. Delaney and 2500 AD by Andre Norton
Movie: Star Wars
And, lots of other stuff. Arthur C. Clarke, Robert Heinlein, Larry Niven, Samuel R. Delaney, Clifford Simak, Lois McMaster Bujold, and William Gibson are incredibly imaginative authors.

My absolute favourite sci fi, when I think strictly sci fi it has to be Anne McCaffreys Brain and Brawn series, the B&B ships. The book I love the most about them is The ship who sang. It is about humans born with perfectly healthy brains but their bodies are so deformed they seem dead until you test their brain activity. They are instead of euthanised they are attached to a ship after a lot of training and they pilot the ship, every aspect of the ship along with a brawn who is basically a host or hostess. Helva was one such brain in control of her ship under the federated sentient planets authority. All ships must have a percentage of their earnings go towards paying off their accumulated expenses of being trained to the position and the cost of the ship so many ships never achieve pay off, but some do, and Helva did. Helva liked to sing which was unusual and her brawn whom she loved also loved to sing, one thing leads to another and they are sent on an extremely hazardous assignment which meant a huge commission and her brawn dies and Helva goes rogue. No Brain ship worth their titanium casing would ever report her if they saw her to the commission. It is a great sci-fi book which ends on a sad note. It is a great series and Anne McCaffrey also bleeds the story over onto some of her other series, one in particular is the crystal singer series where Killashandra and Lars are sent to investigate the jewel junk. Excellent stories. Excellent author.

I got an autograph from Asimov before he died. He was truely one of the great ones.
I liked Dune by Frank Herbert best. The movie sucked.
The best SF movie was Blade Runner.

David Weber's 'Honor Harrington' series. Fantastic reads and he just completed a new novel a couple of months ago. Series has been many years in the making and well worth the wait for the last novel.
