I have windows 98se I have dsl pppoe 3.0/768 I have a router with 2 computers and a broadband phone on it. Every once in a while I simply loose my internet connection on this computer and not on anything else. I can still access the router netgear rp614v2 and ping it I have even tried pinging the network card and that works. It has to be something with this computer. After resetting the router connection a few times or restarting the computer it works again but I never know when it will do it again. It isn't any specific website or thing I am doing. I am sure my user name and password are alright otherwise I would never get on the internet in the first place. I have tried upgrading the network card driver but I couldn't even find an upgrade driver for it via rhine II fast ethernet adapter 4.10.2222. any ideas?

I am saying that I lose connection intermittently and I like the idea of unplugging the cord but how will that solve the problem?

So you say everything still works except that you just can't connect to the internet? I think this is what you are saying.

Next time, it happens, try unpluging the cat5 cable for like 10 seconds and then plug the cat5 cable back into your computer. This will refresh your network connectivity
