Kwan's Chop Suey in the Trenton/Woodhaven area on West Rd has some of the best Sweet and Sour Chicken in the state, the Golden Wheel in Madison Heights on John R is my hometown fave, and Golden Harvest Restaurant on Twelve Mile in Warren is a very authentic, high-quality (but slightly higher prices than average carry out), and the best.

Empress Gardens (11 mile and Lahser). LOVE IT. everything there is delicious. and they have plentiful portions! :)

second favorites are tied:
Ocean City- Telegraph at Huron. It's in the Pontiac/Waterford area. A lot of cops go there, but it's yummy.

Oriental City- 10 mile and greenfield. I grew up eating at this place. Simply wonderful. I think it is not my favorite anymore b/c I have exhausted it :) But a major difference between this restaurant and Empress is the shrimp! when i order shrimp dishes at this restaurant, they not like pebbles compared to the Shrimp Empress Gardens.

We have two we enjoy Hawaiian Island in Trenton on Van Horn road and Fort st. and the other is a small one called China Star in Wyandotte, they are excellent and are not skimpy on the food you get....you will definitely have enough left over for the next day!

Well this "Best" is if you go across the border to May Wah in Windsor. I have lived in MI all my life and nothing is as good as May Wah.....also try them for Dim Sum. Other than that Mon Jin Lau is wonderful.
