You don't say where the spasm is, but calcium is a major help if you have spasm problems. If you are not drinking at least 4 large glasses of milk per day, you might want to consider calcium pills or other sources for calcium. If you take pills, you will want 1,000 MG per day.

My husband gets them all the time if he doesn't have enough calcium.
So every night before bed he takes a calcium supplement and sometimes he takes it with a little milk.
If he forgets, the leg cramp wakes him up to remind him.
The best one seems to be a calcium with magnesium. That helps..He also takes one in the morning. Women also seem to need a little more than men.
Also try to rub it out if you can. A warm compress might give some relief.

Calcium-magnesium-zinc pills may help. Take one with each meal each day. Also Eat more fruits and vegetables to increase your potassium intake. A good high potency multiple vitamin-mineral pill is also a good idea.
