To manipulate your own emotions, you'll need to train yourself to focus, to project your thoughts on something other than what is making your emotion something other than what you want. For example, if you're angry and you desire to feel at peace, breathe deeply and focus on peaceful things, poems, thoughts, positive images.

it can be done by staying focused on the result you want rather than your visceral reaction to the situation of the moment, responding from consciousness rather than emotiveness - OR just by watching that person until you see what makes them tick...and then working it. BUT...my advice is don't do it. when you start to find yourself manipulating someone - even if they aren't giving you the exact results you want - not only do they become boring - but you also stop actually seeing them - so you lose out too. the connection isn't real. if this becomes a pattern, because you can - then you'll start to have trouble really connecting with anyone. second - if you let someone manipulate you - the same thing happens. they don't see you and you don't really connect. too much examination and not enough connection. even the most skilled lover can leave you flat in bed. that's part of why...and p.s. it's subtle - but in some way - needing to manipulate rather than connect - comes from a lack of courage.

Your own mind is more powerful than you know. You can even use it to make yourself not feel most physical pain.
There isn't really any trick to it. Just be the emotion you're shooting for.

Emotions happen and you cannot control them.People react differently to each situation, but your initial emotion to a given event is impossible to control when it happens, before you can meditate on it ,positively or negatively. Therefore, your emotions tell who you are.

it's only you that can control your emotions unless you have serious mental health problems and can't grasp it.
