I can't vote against either team. Carolina rocks, and I'm from PA. I'll probably be watching the Stars, and the Duck hunter...aka Mike Modano.
GO STARS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That was the Pens worst game, next to the Detroit game. They were totally outplayed.
Pittsburgh's problems are that they have absolutely no forecheck. Right now, they are a 1 line team; without Malkin. I think Ray Shero should seriously make a trade. Something has got to be done. Their top line of Sid, Army and Ekman is just not cutting it. Armstrong is tough and will do anything to score a goal, but Ekman just isn't NHL material. When Malkin arrives, they will have 3 solid Centers, but lacking on the wing. LeClair can't skate and when he does, he injures someone! Recchi is old and way past his prime. I think Therrien is underutilizing players in the organization. No one is contributing that should right now. Even Gonchar is choking again. But when Malkin arrives, I think Staal should stay, as a winger on one of the top 2 lines. I would trade Malone and Leclair for ANYTHING but those 2. Malone has no desire to play at all and LeClair has seen his better days. Orpik will be back soon as well, but is this enough to limit the shots? Hell, we give up over 40 every single solitary game and they are quality shots. This can't continue or the team will fall apart and fast.
As for that game, the Pens looked a little intimidated after Letowski got nailed. What a hit! But playing without Orpik, Cairns, Roy, no one stepped it up and they weren't hitting after that. Also, what's up with Ruutu?? He sure isn't doing much out there!? He should have stepped up and started nailing people but it's still early. Carolina controlled the entire game. We choked on every PP, on every odd-man break, and Fleury or Thibault didn't make the big saves for us. We can't really expect them to steal every single game for us when we're giveing up 50 shots a game!
They have to establish a forecheck, alla Detroit and Carolina. We should have kept Jon Sim. I don't know what to do with this team right now. Ouellet is a natural goal scorer so shouldn't he be on the TOP LINE instead of Ekman??? Trade Ekman, LeClair, Recchi, Malone for someone with some HEART and can put the puck in the net!!!
Hope this helps.
