It means that my own thoughts/actions have everything to do with where I go and what I achieve in life. I can, in effect, cause myself to succeed, or I can cause myself to fail. The choices I make will affect me either negatively or positively.

The head is constantly fighting the flesh, which is constantly battling the heart. You have to be disciplined with the things you must do and sometimes put aside the things you want to do. You are the worst enemy you will ever have because it is an enemy from within. Think of all the times you are torn and going in two different directions.

One could be both... If someone were to be their own worst enemy, they would be sabotaging all other friendships... Eventually causing the person to become their own best friend. As for me I have lots of good friends, but best friend is reserved for that special woman that I hope to spend the rest of my life with.

you are your worst enemy... your doubtfulness, eagerness, pride, greed, etc creates this void of incompetence in you, and your failure too.
