I just bought a new brown corduroy skirt... it has a very small wale, panels, and each panel is bordered with silk piping- there is no liner underneath- will it be ok to wash in my top loader at home or do you think I should have it dry cleaned? Is it true that you iron corduroy inside out?

Although some corduroy can be washed with extreme care, there is always a danger of ruining it. As you have silk piping, the decision is made for you - GET IT DRY CLEANED.

Never iron corduroy on the correct side - you will ruin the pile. Iron on the reverse side, with a damp cloth between the iron and the skirt; use a low heat and be patient.

Turn the skirt inside out and wash on cold in a delicates cycle with like colors. It should be just fine!

And yes, you should iron it while it is turned inside out especially with the extras the skirt has!

Corduroy is tricky because it wrinkles and doesn't iron well. Yes, you do need to iron it inside out. I would recommend dry cleaning it because sometimes the colors don't fade evenly either.

The tag on the inside of the skirt should tell you everything. I always read the tag BEFORE i buy, because I don't want too much of a hassle.

My cord skirt says to wash warm, and use warm iron if needed.

Yes, you must iron inside out but take it from me, spend the cash and it to the dry cleaners. It will come out like new and won't have iron marks on it.
