Laser and GPS guidance systems. Enough brains to identify tanks and trucks and alter course for them. Shaped charge warheads to penetrate bunkers better. That kind of stuff.

Your question is not very defined but but they would generaly be tested for acuracy and launching distance. The further away you can be when you open fire and still hit what you intended to the better.
