Well, first off Jesus was a compasionate being. And compassionate people don't do what polititians do today. Second: according to the prophecies in the book of revelation: The government is to become the enemy of God! The Roman government obviously was the enemy of Jesus, sense they crucified him. So I myself believe that the government doesn't have the capability to set an example of true Christianity. The governments have oppressed christians sense ancient times. They may use christianity as a way to lure people to earn their vote, But in all reality the government will become antichrist if it hasn't already! The U.S. and some of the other nations, are stuck in a world of ill hypocrisy. Saying one thing, doing something else. Claiming to be God fearing and yet engaging in unbelievable acts.

Bush professes to be a Christian to get votes. That's all. Would a true man of faith start a pointless war that kills a couple hundred thousand people....and refuse to admit that anything about it is a mistake? I dont think so.

Who cares about the R Right? I make fun of them everyday. Robertson is a nutcase. Dobson is probably a pedophile or cross dresser.

Bush is not a true believer in the social conservative agenda. Social Conservatives are beginning to figure that out--based upon the lack of follow-up on his promises to them which helped signifignantly in the last two elections. They have achieved nothing. It is not unlikely that a large segment of them will sit out the next election and this is going to hurt the Republicans.

Bush got connected with the Religious Right because his father could not stand them. He assigned young Bush to be his liason in his election. But he was never a true believer--although I tend to think he is sincere in his personal faith.

They need their votes but def aren't as fanatical as the religious right.I bet they wish they didn't need their votes.Europeans problem with us is that they believe with Bush in charge he has to use religion in his policies to satisfy his base which is the "nut job" religious right! Europeans are much more secular. And the fanatical Muslims are convinced he is waging a Crusade again because of his connection to the religious right. The best thing we can do is keep any President beholden to the fanatical right wing of the Republican Party out of office. In other words...VOTE DEMOCRAT!!!! What could it hurt.Look what the Republicans have gotten us into.

Just because one person has a belief, does not mean someone else wont mock him for it- even if it's the President of the United States of America. Religion is as highly ridiculed as it is revered- ask any atheist or muslim.

The Faith Based Initiative wasn't much more than political payoff to the evangelicals - besides the fact that it is still a breach of the wall of separation.

Even the most faithful realize that dishonesty, hypocrisy and damn right criminal behavior is endemic in the White House by these Religious, Jesus Camp buffoons that think they have the right to tell me how I ought to live my life.
