I have a computer that I am using with windows xp. I have been using my monitor until it is getting so bad to where I had to use my old one from my old win98 computer. After it displays the windows xp logo, the light goes from green to orange. The monitor is Techmedia. How can I fix this problem. I need this monitor and I don't want to buy a new one.

The color is going out of my old monitor. It is not caused by the computer.
By the way, my backup monitor from win98 works on my old computer.

You can look for a used one to buy very cheap... But they don't last forever, and are not worth repairing. SORRY.

I actually recommend that you order one from http://www.newegg.com You can every get a good deal on a new LCD flat panel. It seems expensive, but they last longer, take less desk space and use much less energy.

If I got it right, it is acting up with two different monitors. You have a bad video card. You have to replace the card, not the monitor.

you ought to use something referred to as the replicate App that is genuinely quite basic. no longer a lot of human beings genuinely understand this yet displays are genuinely created from mirrors and computer boards with basically a splash of wires and string. you need to get a screw driving force set and peel off the adhesive rubber screw protectors around the exhibit screen, they must demonstrate screws, get rid of the screws and you need to have the skill basic in simple terms get rid of the exhibit screen front cover. this could demonstrate various computer boards and the exhibit unit, there will be screws around the exhibit unit, all you need to do is take away those screw, lean the exhibit unit at an perspective and disconnect any wires linked to it. you want a replicate approximately the comparable length because of fact the exhibit unit which you basically bumped off. Now you need to take your warm glue gun (silicon works just to boot, yet get the costliest one as that ensures severe high quality adhesion and you do no longer want the wires to come back off as quickly as all of the screws are lower back in.), for each cord, place a blob of glue on the lower back of the replicate, intently connect each cord to the glue, it is not proper what gets placed the place, if there's a plug linked to the tip of the cord then in simple terms pull it off. you need to be very careful, as there are not any screw holes for the replicate, you basically ought to apply your warm glue or silicon to adhere the replicate lower back in place, as quickly as you have performed this, place the front cover lower back and all that is screws. you may throw away all left over screws, plugs and the exhibit unit you bumped off. Congratulations you have effectively put in the replicate app.
