My girlfriend is about 37.5 weeks along and she is having contractions about 9min apart. She also has toxemia (we were at hospital for 2 days just yesterday and Friday)
Should she go to hospital again? They said yesterday they will have to induce labor no matter what sometime this week.

Anyone have experience in this? She is crying right now, I feel bad cuz I don't know what to do.

I took her in, she is there now. I am going back and forth cuz the labor won't start for 24-48 more hours.

get your rear end into the car and start driving to the hospital...and don't forget to take your girlfriend with you.

It would be extremely rare that a woman is pregnant yet still experiencing a period every month. What the 'period' does is, recycles out the current months egg, flushes it out the system (hence the bleeding) and a new egg gets ready to take its place. If she was bleeding every month for her cycle, she would be flushing out eggs every month making it virtually impossible to be pregnant, as a woman's eggs get put on hold during and a few months after pregnancy. Ovulation is another thing - she very well may be experiencing that. Some women can actually feel their own ovulation around the time it is happening. Discharge is increased during that time, and it usually happens around 14 days from the start of a woman's period. So if she had her period on the 10th, then on or around the 24th is when she may ovulate. Less commonly, some women ovulate earlier, or later than the 14 days. I personally ovulate about 2 days after my period. Other women may ovulate a few days before their period, but as a standard, it is said that the majority of ladies ovulate around 2 weeks from the first day. Looking and searching for ovulation websites can greatly help detect and narrow down when her ovulation day may occur. In conclusion, my personal opinion is it would be a strong no to her being pregnant. I really wouldn't worry too much about that being a possibility given the details you provided.. Take care :)

My doctor advises to go to the hospital when you have more than 6 contractions in an hour for more than two hours. It's a good starting-off point for labor induction if she's already having contractions, too.

If you don't go to the hospital, at least call her doctor, or the hospital if you can't reach him. Explain the situation and they will be qualified to let you know what you need to do. The fact that she has toxemia would lead me to think you need to go. It's better to go when you don't have to than to not go when you should have. Good luck.

Shes going threw the same thing I went through. Go to the hospital and they will more than likely break her water for her. Since shes toxic, its best the baby is coming now. Its better for both mommy and baby. GOOD LUCK AND CONGRATS

Why not bring her to the hospital now. Go, log off now.

Probably not the best time as it's Sunday night.
Tomorrow call her ob/gyn and arrange to meet at the hospital so they can induce her.
Unless her water breaks, then go to hospital immediately.
BTW have her sit/sleep on a garbage back in case her water breaks. Trust me.
