The moon affects many things, some even say that the moon is part of the reason why we are here today. The moon does more than just cause the tides. The moon flexes the interior of the earth so that it stays molten and gooey. this helps keep the earth a living planet unlike mars. It stabilizes the earths orbit and affects many other things. Quite frankly though... I don't think that it will even matter where the moon is in 100 million years, humanity will probably have committed suicide by then.

Your question was a rather vague one, but without the moon earth wouldn't be the same. But I think it'll probably take longer than 100 million years for that to happen. Time passes slowly when we're not around.

This is not at all true, even though it is true that the moon is gradually moving away from the Earth. The rate at which the moon is receding is not nearly fast enough to have the effect you are alluding to.

I'll keep a check on it and get back to you within the next 5 million years or so.
