Here is a link that will guide you through that, you need a 3rd party app such as ypops, or yahoopops to do that for free.

POP3 is pop.mail.yahoo.com and SMTP is smtp.mail.yahoo.com. If you are using the free version of Yahoo! Mail, it does not provide POP3 access. In order to gain POP3 access, you can either upgrade to Yahoo! Mail Plus ($19.99/ year) or use a free third party software called YPOPs. For instructions on how to use YPOPs, please read:

"As many of you know, the free version of Yahoo! Mail does not provide POP3 access. In layman's terms, you can't download messages from Yahoo! Mail to your desktop e-mail client. In order to receive POP3 access you need to upgrade to Yahoo! Mail Plus, which will cost you $19.99/ year. However, there is a poor man's alternative to gain POP3 access to Yahoo! Mail and it won't cost you a dime.

YPOP is a free open source application which allows users to access their messages from Yahoo! Mail. Currently, it supports the following OS: Windows, Mac, Solaris and Linux. It supports several popular desktop e-mail clients, such as: Outlook, Outlook Express, Thunderbird and Eudora. Use of YPOP's in no way violates your license agreement with Yahoo! Mail." -- excerpt from article.

I've heard Pop3 access is now a paid service only, so the settings wont help you. You can give it a go though I guess:

pop.mail.yahoo.co.uk

smtp.mail.yahoo.co.uk

Works for me, but I signed up before it changed.
