Because people just can't leave other people alone and stay out of their business. Instead of worrying about themselves, they think they need to tell everybody else that they should live THEIR way.
Does it really make a difference in my life if my neighbor wants to have sex with their own gender? Absolutely not. Live and let live, I say. I feel that with all the hatred and ugliness in this world, when two people get together who love each other, we should celebrate that.

I'm straight and I think it's because of the gender roles. The feminine is attracted to the opposite the masculine, that's how it works for us, so it's difficult to understand the feminine wanting the feminine if it's d*ck that gives you satisfaction. There's also that whole religious thing. The bible says it's an abomination and that's that. Nobody stops to think or question it. But personally I can understand it, because I'm a girl watcher and have had sexual stirrings for a girl. I don't know that I would actually go there, I don't consider myself bi. But I'm totally gay for Gwenyth Paltrow. I don't think there's anything the matter with gay people. I never have.

To the person who started this thread, um.... if your girlfriend explained to you VERY clearly that she's not attracted, turned on, or interested in women, then what the hell does that tell you? It should be obvious then! BUT, at the same time if she's enjoying the sex with other women, then that could be a bit..... confusing. So she might be confused or she might not be. However it would be more likely that she's bisexual rather than calling her a "closeted" gay woman, because she's with you and has been with other men. So she's not bi. And believe it or not, but there are TONS of men who fit the category of "bi-curious" like how Super Star explained.

People are raised by other misguided people who listen to a 2000 year old book that claims that our savior is a carpenter and accept all of its claims blindly. Just like there are still some racists today, over time there will be less and less homophobes, however, as long as certain religions are around people will keep buying into the ancient hate that can only be practiced by a true ignorant person.

Nobody has any right to tell anyone who to love. What I can't understand is that what is wrong with two people loving each other? In the world today we need more of it.
I don't know about you but I find it mostly the Christians that diss gays. At least we don't blow up each other and innocent people because of who we are and what we believe in.
I think that because hetro is seen as the norm it is hard for people to think outside the square.

This isn't hard for straight people to understand, it's hard for bigots to understand. Just like some racists can't imagine someone loving a person of another color, or from another culture. The bigots around here don't speak for the majority. They are a small, hateful minority that's getting louder and more strident because they know they're a shrinking minority, and it drives them nuts.
