where can i find enough info to write a research paper on how gps works. ex satellites, positioning?

You can search on the internet or even go to a store where they are sold (Best Buy, CompUSA, West Marine, etc...) and ask about how they work. They might be able to give you paperwork on the individual gpd models.

Golf courses use them; Fire Stations use them on their trucks; many cars (GM) offer them...

Google or look up some of these in the Yellow pages..
